Laurent Koscielny Joins Arsenal

Image
Good morning, it's one of those rare days today that we speculate about all through the summer, we actually have a brand new signing for Arsenal to discuss. After lengthy speculation, the club confirmed the transfer of Laurent Koscielny from French side Lorient for an undisclosed fee which media speculation places somewhere between £8.5 million and £10 million. The arrival of centre-half Koscielny goes some way (albeit not all the way) to offsetting the departures we have already seen and seem likely to see from our defence in the near future. By reportedly paying a fee not far off the one Arsene Wenger agreed for Thomas Vermaelen, the manager has set the bar pretty high for the new addition. Before Koscielny has even kicked a ball for Arsenal, several fans have questioned his quality and what it says about Arsenal's ambition that the club has signed him. I would suggest there can only be a small number of Arsenal fans that have watched Koscielny as much as the club...

Arsene Wenger, “Cesc is not for sale, no matter what Barcelona offer”

Image
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has again confirmed that the club has no intention of selling captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona, regardless of the fee the Spanish giants are ready to offer. Currently in South Africa working for French channel TF1, Wenger is quoted as saying how the 23-year old midfielder is not for sale, hence confirming the position of the club which revealed an offer – according to reports around the £29m – was turned down in an official statement at the start of the month. Wenger said: Cesc is not for sale, no matter what Barcelona offer. Meanwhile, according to Barcelona players, Fabregas wants to leave the North London Club to return to his homeland although the player made it clear how he is at the moment only focused on doing well with the Spanish National side in South Africa. The player also explained that he is as excited for playing in South Africa as he was four years ago in Germany although he failed to live up to expectations in the group stage of the ...

Theo Walcott's Personal Info

Image
Walcott was born to a Jamaican father and an English mother.[24] His family made a cameo appearance in the 2007 film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Theo himself was due to appear as well, but his commitments to Arsenal forced him to drop out. Walcott and his father are both Liverpool fans. Walcott has never hidden the fact that he's a massive Liverpool supporter and even when Chelsea laid out the red carpet for him as a youngster, he used the opportunity to meet his real idols: "I was playing in a tournament for Swindon when Southampton and Chelsea showed an interest," recalls Walcott. "Chelsea invited me to be a ball-boy for a game against Liverpool and it was fantastic to meet my heroes Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler." "I was a Liverpool fan simply because my dad followed them. Unfortunately I wasn't born when the team had their golden era, but I enjoyed watching the likes of Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler and Steve McManaman when I was gro...

Pires - Fabregas will stay

Image
Former Arsenal man Robert Pires does not think Cesc Fabregas will leave the club. Fabregas has been heavily linked with a close-season move to Barcelona and the Catalan club have already made initial enquiries about his availability. The Gunners captain recently indicated his desire to return to the club where he developed as a youngster, although former team-mate Pires says no move will materialise. Pires - who was released by Spanish club Villarreal in the close season - believes the 23-year-old will still be at the North London side for the 2010/11 campaign. He told Catalan Radio Station Ona FM : "I don't think that Arsenal are going to allow Cesc to leave. "Cesc is the image of Arsenal. I'll bet that we will once again see Cesc in an Arsenal shirt. "If we see a great Cesc today it's because Arsene Wenger has great confidence in him, as such I don't see Cesc leaving Arsenal." Asked whether Fabregas would force the club to put his trans...
